100%
YAY!!! All of my students passed their TAKS Test. I was so happy when I found out yesterday. I am so proud of them. I had a girl come to me yesterday morning and asked if she could talk to me. My friend Rachelle was in my room talking to me and the girl told her she could stay. So she comes in a sits down. Now...let me give you a little background on this girl. She is pretty well behaved but she gets sassy occasionally. She really does not know how to communicate with adults and struggles getting her message across most of the time. She also has a hard time in school. She did not pass a single benchmark test for me all year. So I was extremely happy when she passed the TAKS. So she comes into my room and sits down and says, "Ms. Howard, I just wanted to thank you for pushing me so hard this year. I have never passed a TAKS test before and so I wanted to thank you. I guess what I really needed was a really mean teacher to get me to pass..." At this point Rachelle and I bust out laughing because all the kids say Im mean. Anyway, it was a really heartfelt thank you, just delivered funny. Whatever it takes I guess. The year is quickly winding down. Today is actually my last normal day. I get to miss the next two days for UIL stuff. Then Rachelle and I are taking our UIL kids to state, me for prose her for math. So we will leave Sunday and perform Monday and Tuesday. Hope for the best! Then we come back take finals and are finished. Year five down!
